Terms of use and disclaimer
These terms apply when you use latelanding.co.uk. Please read them before you rely on a result or follow a link to a claims partner.

In short
- Late Landing is a free, independent guide. It is not an airline, a law firm, a claims company or a regulator.
- Results are estimates based on your answers. Only the airline, an approved dispute body or a court can decide your claim.
- If you use a claims partner through our link, your agreement is with them, and we may be paid a commission.
- We limit our liability as far as the law allows. Your statutory rights are not affected.
1. About these terms and this site
Late Landing (latelanding.co.uk) is run by Pras Rao, a sole trader trading as SoloStarterHQ (“we”, “us”). Our contact details are in section 13. By using the site you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
The site explains passenger rights under UK261 and EU261, offers a free checker that estimates whether you may be owed compensation, and can produce a claim letter for you to send yourself. It is free to use and you do not need an account.
We are independent. We are not connected with any airline, airport, the Civil Aviation Authority, the European Commission or any government body. We are not a law firm and do not handle claims. Claims management in the sectors regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority does not include flight delay claims, and we do not carry out any regulated claims management activity.
2. Guidance, not legal advice
Everything on the site is general information about the law. It is not legal advice about your own situation and does not create a lawyer–client or any other professional relationship. If your case is complicated or a lot of money is involved, consider getting advice from a solicitor or an advice service such as Citizens Advice.
3. How to treat checker results
The checker applies the rules to the answers you give. Its result is an estimate, not a decision. In particular:
- It relies on your answers. If an airport, date, delay, reason or airline is wrong, the result will be wrong.
- It cannot see the facts behind the delay. Whether a cause counts as extraordinary circumstances depends on evidence the airline holds. That is why results say “likely”, “possibly” or “unlikely”, and amounts say “up to”.
- Distances are calculated as a straight line between airport coordinates from a public data set, and may differ slightly from the figure an airline or court uses.
- Some situations are not covered, such as denied boarding, downgrading, package holiday rights, and the rules of countries outside the UK and EU.
We check the rules and amounts against official sources and show the date we last did so. The law and its interpretation can change, so please check the official guidance we link to before you rely on it.
4. The claim letter
The claim letter is a free template that you complete and send yourself. You are responsible for checking that everything in it is correct and true before you send it, and for any claim you make. Do not claim for a flight you were not on, or for more passengers than travelled. Making a false claim can have legal consequences.
5. Claims partners and commission
When the checker shows a claim is likely or possible, it may offer a link to a claims company we have a commercial relationship with (a “claims partner”). If you follow it:
- Any agreement you make is between you and the claims partner, on its terms. We are not a party to it.
- The claims partner sets its own fee and should show it to you before you sign up. We do not add anything to it.
- We may be paid a commission by the partner or its affiliate network, for example when you submit a claim or when a claim succeeds. How we make money explains this.
- We do not control how the partner handles your claim, your data or any complaint. Raise these with the partner first. You remain free to claim from the airline yourself at no cost, as our how to claim guide explains.
Links marked as partner links are adverts. We choose partners on what we believe serves visitors, but we do not guarantee their service or results.
6. Links to other websites
We link to official sources such as the CAA, legislation.gov.uk, Your Europe and EUR-Lex, and to claims partners. We are not responsible for the content, availability or practices of other websites.
7. Using the site
You may use the site for your own personal, non-commercial purposes. You must not:
- copy, scrape or republish the site, its content or its code, in whole or in substantial part, without our written permission
- use automated tools to submit large numbers of checks, or interfere with the site’s working or security
- use the site in a way that is unlawful or misleading, including to make false claims
- frame the site or present it as connected with you or your business
You may link to any page of the site, as long as you do not suggest we endorse you.
8. Copyright and trade marks
The site’s design, text, checker and code are © 2026 Pras Rao. All rights reserved. Airport data comes from OurAirports, which is in the public domain. Quotations from legislation contain public sector information licensed under the Open Government Licence v3.0. Airline names and other trade marks belong to their owners and are used only to identify them.
9. Availability and changes
The site is provided free, “as is” and “as available”. We may change, suspend or withdraw any part of it at any time without notice, and we do not promise that it will always be available, error-free or free from viruses. Please use your own virus protection.
10. Our liability to you
We work hard to keep the site accurate, but because it is free general guidance we have to limit our responsibility for how it is used. To the fullest extent permitted by law:
- We are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of, or reliance on, the site, its results, the claim letter or any linked website. This includes compensation you did not receive, a claim that failed or was made too late, fees charged by a claims partner, and any loss of time or opportunity.
- We are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, or for any business loss. The site is for personal use only.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot be excluded or limited under the law of England and Wales. Your statutory rights as a consumer are not affected.
11. Complaints
If you are unhappy with the site, please contact us using the details in section 13 and we will try to put things right. Complaints about a claim or a claims partner should go to that partner first.
12. Changes to these terms and governing law
We may update these terms. The version on this page applies from the date shown at the bottom.
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring proceedings in your local courts.
