How we make money

The checker and guides are free. We earn money when someone chooses to claim through one of our claims partners. Here is exactly how that works.

In short

How it works

When the checker shows that a claim is likely or possible, it offers a button to start a claim with a claims partner. That link carries a code so the partner can see you came from us. If you then go on to make a claim, the partner, or the affiliate network that runs its programme, may pay us a commission. Depending on the partner, this is paid when a claim is submitted, or as a share of the partner’s fee if the claim succeeds.

Our current claims partner is named below. We will update this page whenever a partner changes.

Current claims partner: none yet. We are setting up our first claims partner. Until then, the checker links to our free guide to claiming yourself, and no commission is paid.

What it does not change

How partner links are marked

Partner buttons appear only on the checker’s result, next to a short note that says we may be paid. They are marked in the page code as sponsored links. Every other link on the site is an ordinary link with no tracking.

Why we work this way

Commission lets us keep the checker and guides free, without adverts and without collecting your details. We send people to a partner only when their claim looks likely or possible, because a claims company is only useful to someone with a real claim. When a claim looks unlikely, we offer a free letter to the airline instead.
